The working principle of a brushless motor is to change the alternating frequency and waveform of the current wave input to the stator coil of the brushless motor, forming a magnetic field around the winding coil that rotates around the geometric axis of the motor. This magnetic field drives the permanent magnet steel on the rotor to rotate, thereby causing the motor to rotate. The rotor of a brushless motor is a permanent magnet, while the stator has multiple sets of coils. By applying electricity to the coils, a magnetic field is generated, which interacts with the rotor magnetic field to generate torque and drive the rotor to rotate. Due to the fact that brushless DC motors operate in a self controlled manner, they do not add additional starting windings to the rotor like synchronous motors that start with heavy loads under variable frequency speed regulation, nor do they generate oscillations and loss of step during sudden load changes.

In practical applications, the controller of brushless motors receives control signals and controls the motor speed to meet various usage needs. High quality electronic speed controllers require microcontroller control program design, circuit design, and complex processing techniques, so the price is usually much higher than that of brushed motors.
