Working Principle

 
Shield-pole motor belongs to AC single-phase induction motor, its auxiliary winding is generally composed of copper ring, the copper ring is called shield-pole coil, the phase of the current delay magnetic flux in the coil is in the magnetic pole part, so as to provide a rotating magnetic field, the rotation direction should be from the non-shield-pole to shield-pole ring.
 
The rotor is placed in the C-core, and half of each magnetic pole needs to be covered by a shield coil. Once the AC current passes through the supply coil, a pulsating flux is generated.
 

Once the magnetic flux of the shielding coil changes, the shield coil can sense the current and voltage, which can be corresponding to the magnetic flux change from the power coil, the magnetic flux under the shield coil lags behind the magnetic flux of the rest of the coil, and the rotor will rotate in the magnetic flux.
