Definition of Gear Motor


Gear Motor refers to the integration of reducer and motor. This integrated body is often also called a gear motor. It is usually integrated and assembled by a professional reducer manufacturer and then supplied as a complete set with the motor.

 

 

Working Principle of Gear Motor


Gear Motors generally use motors, internal combustion engines or other high-speed running power to drive large gears through the small gears on the input shaft of the gear reducer achieve a certain reduction purpose. They adopt a multi-stage structure, which can greatly reduce the speed. To increase the output torque of the reduction motor, its core function of "power-increasing deceleration" is to use gear transmission at all levels to achieve the purpose of deceleration. Gear Motor Classification

 

Gear Motor can be divided into the following types according to their transmission methods and structural characteristics:

 

  • Direct coupling gear motor: It is composed of an electric motor and a gearbox. The output shaft is coaxial with the electric motor to meet the needs of high torque and low speed operation.

 

  • Reduction gear motor: It consists of an electric motor, a reducer and an output shaft. It can provide different output speeds and torques and is suitable for various load conditions.

 

  • Planetary gear motor: It consists of a sun gear, a planet gear and an internal ring gear. It outputs power through a sleeve or output shaft. It is small in size and has high transmission efficiency.

 

  • Helical gear motor: It consists of a helical gear and a vertical output shaft, which can achieve high-power transmission and smooth operation.

 

 

The Role of Gearbox in Gear Motor

 

  • Acceleration and deceleration are often referred to as variable speed gearboxes.

 

  • Change the transmission direction. For example, we use two gears to transmit the force vertically to another rotation axis.
